Back in 2005, when I started Doomed Moviethon, when my little site had less than 50 reviews, one article, and an interview, I bought a book called Shock December by these three guys who watched 21 horror films in 48 hours. I smacked my forehead so hard that my brain flew out my ass. I've been having moviethons for years! Why the hell haven't I been documenting the dang things?!!?! After that excellent book, I documented my first moviethon proper: Doomed Fulci-Thon. And the rest is history, y'all. Recently, I got to check out the new book from the Shockmarathoners: Shock October. It's a fine read and a hell of a lot of fun. Check out my review right here, duders.
Last year, I wrote several pieces for a site that is unfortunately gone now. I thought I had rescued all of those articles from oblivion but one had escaped me somehow. A famous man once said "everybody hurts sometimes". Well, that dude was serious. Crazy Lips hurt me and I wrote about it because I had to face that pain. And now a palette cleanser... Here is a clip from The Awful Truth starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. Dunne plays Grant's soon-to-be-ex-wife and in this clip she is trying to get him out of a jam by pretending to be his sister. Of course, she's really trying to get him back but I won't spoil the whole movie for you. Be sure to watch the whole thing when you get a chance. The wife and I have been on a Cary Grant kick lately thanks to Turner Classic Movies.
I spend my life trying to find that one movie that I would trade all the others for. Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama isn't that movie but oh yes, it is pretty damn close. On The Daily Tourniquet, I have tried to glorify this classic within reason. Just kidding, I'm never reasonable about Linnea Quigley. Anyway, here it is. Let me know what you think.

I have returned once again to haunt The Daily Tourniquet with another Lady of Giallo. This time it is the amazingly amazing Florinda Bolkan of Don't Torture a Duckling and A Lizard in a Woman's Skin. Read it right here, please. The rest of the weekend was fairly uneventful. There was a screaming match at the laundry room in my apartment complex which I was witness to. That was pretty amazing. Um, I bought a new hat and my wife and I went on a date. I started working on the screenshots for Giallo Meltdown 3 (yeah, it's STILL not done yet!) and I watched a mess of flicks.

The weekend is over and I am not pleased about that. However, I am please to announce that Ladies of Giallo #5 is up at The Daily Tourniquet. It is about Marilù Tolo and Carla Brait. Check it out and report back as soon as you can.
My only regret is not watching Bluebeard before I wrote this one just so I could see Marilù Tolo kick Richard Burton in the balls. Amazing! Too bad about all the dang animal violence. It was pretty much the most gratuitous bunch of bullshit I've ever seen (except for the wild boar (that thing freaked me out)). Other than the hunting scene, I pretty much loved Bluebeard.
Yesterday, the wife and I watched Topper starring Cary Grant and Constance Bennett. I have vague memories of trying to watch this as a kid and being bored out of my skull. Boy, was I a dumb kid or what? Topper is awesome. I have no idea if any of the sequels are worth checking out.
We did our bookstore hopping this weekend and visited Borders, Barnes & Noble and Mojo Books & Music. I picked up the new Rue Morgue and the seventh volume of MPD Psycho at Borders. Neither of us could find anything at Barnes & Noble so we headed home by way of Mojo where I picked up a used copy of Marvel's Essential Tales of the Zombie (for $8.99) which looks promising.
Hello, folks. I hope you had a phantasmagorical weekend. Aside from watching too many movies (I'm not even sure what that means), playing some guitar, smoking cigars and eating an amazing BBQ pulled pork sandwich (which I ended up regretting very, very much), things were pretty quiet.
