Ladies of Giallo # 8

Good things come in threes and here's three giallo ladies for the price of none for ya. Read the article here and let me know what y'all think. I'm probably going to get some breakfast soon. Labor Day is good. Take care, you lovely people.

  1. Brochard is an excellent choice, I'm not even sure if she did more than one giallo (eyeball), but somehow she still has one of those faces I always associate with Gialli. Ewa Aulin is a good choice too - hadn't thought of her, but she's done a surprising amount of Gialli.

How did your own "Crazy Fortune Teller" shoot turn out btw.?

  2. Thanks! Martine Brochard was quite prevalent in genre flicks but did too few gialli. I wanted to write more about Aulin but, you know what? It's all there in her dang Wiki page. I've got the next two lined up already but if you think of anyone you're interested in, let me know.

The shoot went very well actually. I will post an update on Crazy Fortune Teller this week. Promise.

  3. hard to say (don't know who else is already on your list after all), but I think Elke Sommer might be an interesting choice - I believe she only did a couple of Bava films (might be wrong though), but as I recall her biography is quite interesting and she's definitely not just another starlet.

Carroll Baker is another interesting choice (although one who's probably already on the list), seeing that she was already in her late 30s / early 40s when she did her gialli and that she used to be a "Hollywood star" prior to her second career in Italy.

  4. Well, I like to keep it a surprise so I'm not going to share my list but some of these ladies only have 1 giallo appearance but it might be a really good one. I'm not going to do every single one (maybe if somebody was paying me to) but the list is pretty long.

But oh yes, Caroll Baker is one I've been wanting to do for good and bad reasons. Elke Sommer... Hmm... I'll have to look into that one. She may have only done those Bava flicks. Will check it out.

  5. Wonderful... One of the absolute highlights of the week!
