The Tape was Blank...

It was very, very weird. Fast-forwarding through the static made me very anxious which is probably better than the actual experience that watching this movie might have been. I think Troma has Epitaph on DVD so I can check this out one day when I'm really desperate.

  1. Wow! That's a new one. I once bought a tape of Horrible Dr Hichcock that ran out before the film ended, and one of Tobe Hooper's Death Trap that had an incomplete soundtrack - all the music and effects, but no dialogue. That was weird. Plus I watched it for about half an hour before conceding there was anything wrong. In fact, in some ways I enjoyed that version more than the talkie.
But a blank tape? That just sucks. And the movie looks so good, too.

  2. @Matthew - Your experiences are way weirder. Though I would be more a million times more pissed if the movie, any movie I'd paid for and was watching just stopped suddenly. There are some pretty choice moments in Death Trap that would be even sweeter sans dialogue. My guess is that my Epitaph tape either got erased accidentally or left the factory as a blank.
