Very nice! I picked up the Wizard Video edition of this tape, box intact, for $3 at a local video store several years ago. I had rented it from them before that, and I enjoyed it enough to get the Synapse DVD of "Exorcism," which I found even better and have since swapped out for the Redemption Blu-ray (which is gorgeous, btw).
It can get confusing because there is also a version called "Demoniac" on the Blu-ray, but it's not the same one on this tape. The Blu-ray version of "Demoniac" is simply a shorter version of "Exorcism" with alternate clothed sequences. Wizard Video's "Demoniac" is a censored version of "The Sadist of Notre Dame," a 1979 re-edit of "Exorcism" containing new footage of Jess slashing women in the street. I remember it being pretty good in its own right, but I have recently downloaded the uncut version of "Sadist" so I'll have to see how it holds up compared to "Exorcism," which I think is one of Franco's very best films.
I thought that cover art looked familiar. So I just went through my Blood and Black Lace book. It was also used for The Bloodsucker Leads The Dance!
ReplyDelete@Justin - Nice work, duder. I was wondering what else had been graced with that badass art.
ReplyDeleteLet's all pray that this is better than The Bloodsucker Leads The Dance.

@Ryan - Whoa. Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to this flick. Franco as a crazed slasher? Can't wait!
